Damayanti tops the draw in Bangkok 10K

Ranked at WTA 382 as per May 25, 2009 Ayu Fani Damayanti of Indonesia placed as number 1 seeded at "PTT Women's Circuit 1" with total prize money of US $ 10,000 which is held at Rama Garden Hotel Tennis Center in Bangkok, Thailand. In the opening round, Balinese Damayanti will begin her campaign against qualifier yet experienced Yoo Mi of South Korea. Local player Varatchaya Wongteanchai is second seed here and she will meet New Zealander Ellen Barry in the first round. Meanwhile third seed Jessy Rompies from Indonesia will face her club mate and doubles' partner, Beatrice Gumulya. Followed by fourth seed Nungnadda "Jib" Wannasuk of Thailand, she is drawn to play against Indian Parul Goswami in the opening round. Next in line is fifth seed Vietnamese Nguyen Thuy-Dung who will clash with local player Kanyapat "Meaw" Narattana. In the meantime sixth seed Lizaan Du Plessis of South Africa is to play against American Chloe Jones. The two remaining seeds, seventh seed Lavinia Tananta of Indonesia will battle with Thai Sophia Mulsap and eighth seed Parija Maloo from India will be challenged by German qualifier Sarah-Rebecca Sekulic.

This tournament had started with its qualifying round since Saturday (June 6, 2009) and the final qualifying was completed yesterday (June 7, 2009).
