Number 4 seeded Han Xinyun claimed her title in three consecutive weeks in the land of Jeon Mi-Ra and this time at “ITF Gimhae International Women’s Circuit” in Gimhae, South Korea on Sunday (June 7, 2009). 19 years old Han had a relatively easy labor in the final after she cruised past unseeded Aussie Shannon Golds 6-1, 6-3. Indeed Han stopped Golds' fine run into the last stage of this tourney.
In semi-finals, Han toppled her compatriot and top seed Lu Jing-Jing despite slight difficulty in second set. Han posted 6-1, 7-6(6) victory over her opponent. Meanwhile Golds surprised second seed Ryoko Fuda of Japan as she fought hard to earn her final berth with 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory.
In doubles’ final on Saturday (June 6, 2009), third seed pair Yayuk Basuki/Romana Tedjakusuma captured their title two weeks in a row after they edged past China’s Liang Chen/Sun Sheng-Nan 7-5, 6-1. As of now, it is the third title for duet Basuki/Tedjakusuma in 2009.
