Third seed Pervak rolls into semi-finals, while qualifier Botto ends her fairytale
The highest seed still left in the draw, third seed Ksenia Pervak of Russia continued her quest to capture back to back junior grand slam title at Roland Garros on Thursday (June 4, 2009). In quarterfinals Pervak edged past her compatriot Valeria Solovieva 6-2, 7-5. In semi-finals, she will face another compatriot, Daria Gavrilova who had to fight hard in ending Peruvian qualifier’s fairytale and in the end Gavrilova won 6-4, 2-6, 6-2.
15th seed Floridian Sloane Stephens maintained her fine form as she outclassed 11th seed Silvia Njiric from Croatia 6-2, 6-2. In the last four round, Stephens will clash with local player and 9th seed Kristina Mladenovic who battled past South African Chanel Simmonds 7-6(2), 6-2.
