Budiharto ousted in opener at Wichita 10K
Former member of "Big Mama" tennis camp, Lutfiana Aris Budiharto made a surprise participation at "Via Christi Women's Circuit" with total prize money of US $ 10,000 being held at Sheldon Colemen Tennis Complex in Wichita, Kansas, USA this week. For an update, Over a year, Budiharto has been studying at Wichita State University and playing tennis for her campus team. We all certainly hoped that she had gone through all the pertinent process or agreement with NCAA as she is prohibited to get the prize money at all since she is still playing for tennis collegiate conference. By the time she is graduated, then she will be able to obtain the prize money.
Entering the tourney as wild card main draw, Budiharto was drawn to meet fourth seed Sabrina Capannolo of USA. 23 years old Capannolo is currently ranked at WTA 828, while Budiharto is unranked but once she had reached her best rank at WTA 725 on August 13, 2007. Away from pro circuit for almost a year, Budiharto crashed out in the first round to her opponent Capannolo 7-5, 1-6, 1-6.
Also in the main draw, there is American Tori Kinard, niece of former top shuttler Rudy Hartono of Indonesia. Fifth seed Kinard also exited in the opening round after she bowed out to her compatriot Lauren Herring 3-6, 3-6. 21 years old Californian Kinard is now ranked at WTA 863.
