Fifth seed Indonesian Grace Sari Ysidora Tobing was forced to end her final stint at “17th International Junior Tournament of Offenbach/Main” in Offenbach, Germany (an ITF Grade 1 tourney) as she bowed out to Klara Koprivova of Czech Republic in round 16 on Thursday (June 11, 2009). Having difficulty in claiming first set, Ysidora Tobing eventually lost to Koprivova 6-4, 1-6, 1-6. So, 16 years old Ysidora Tobing is completed 2-4 now in her first ever clay tour in Europe. In the meantime, her doubles’ partnership with Russian Anastasia Mukhametova continued on to take casualty despite first time together as duo. In quarterfinal Ysidora Tobing/Mukhametova toppled another seeded pair and this time sixth seed duet Cristina Dinu/Liu Min (Romania/China) suffered a defeat. Duo Ysidora Tobing/Mukhametova won 6-2, 6-4 and secured their semi-final spot. In the last four round, they will have tough task against unseeded pair Lidziya Marozava/Polina Pekhova of Belarus. This Belarus duet had similar run as Ysidora Tobing/Mukhametova after they knocked out top seed pair Veronica Cepede Royg/Chanel Simmonds (Paraguay/South Africa) and seventh seed duo Cecilia Costa Melgar/Yuliana Lizarazo (Chile/Colombia) consecutively.
Meanwhile top seed lefty Chanel Simmonds cruised into quarterfinals as she eased past Russian qualifier Adel Arshavskaya 6-2, 6-2. Followed by third seed Norwegian Ulrikke Eikeri who edged past Doroteja Eric from Serbia 6-3, 6-4. Then it is very possible to see both ITF A team members, Simmonds and Eikeri to battle in semi-finals.
