Damayanti earned her semi-final spot in Hamilton

Only Ayu Fani Damayanti, recently recruited to "Big Mama" elite camp who advanced into the semi-finals at "ASB Pro Circuit" in Hamilton, New Zealand. Playing against her club mate and top seed Sandy Gumulya, Damayanti took her revenge as she won over Indonesian "golden gal" 6-2, 2-2 retired. Gumulya decided to call a quit as she had knee injury again. In the last four round, Balinese Damayanti will challenge fifth seed Zhang Ling of Hong Kong who edged past third seed Montinee "Ploy" Tangphong of Thailand 6-0, 6-3 in the other quarter-final match.

The least favorite of "Big Mama" entourage since she is still considered as "junior" by the head coach, qualifier Jessy Rompies could not get her revenge and was crushed by fourth seed Noppawan "Nok" Lertcheewakarn of Thailand 6-1, 6-0 also in the last eight round today. In the semi-final, Lertcheewakarn will battle against eighth seed Japanese Ayaka Maekawa who shocked second seed Hwang I-Hsuan of Chinese Taipei in a close duel but Maekawa prevailed 7-5, 7-5.

Doubles' final later today featured fourth seed pair Kim So-Jung/Ayaka Maekawa (South Korea/Japan) against Jessy Rompies/Varatchaya Wongteanchai (Indonesia/Thailand). Experienced duo Kim/Maekawa won their back to back title after last week in North Shore City as they edged past Rompies/Wongteanchai 7-5, 6-3 today. Here it is their 7th doubles partnership and so far both of them as a pair has collected total of 3 titles in which their first one came at Gimhae 10K in August, 2008.
