Lavinia Tananta made it double at Manila 10K

Fourth seeded Lavinia Tananta made a sweet victory and secured her second title of her career at "Holcim ITF Women's Circuit" which took place at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center, Manila. Semarang resident Tananta overcame her nemesis and compatriot, fourth seeded Ayu Fani Damayanti 6-1, 6-4 in the final today. Tananta is now closing the gap to 3-5 in her meeting against Balinese Damayanti. Her maiden title of 10K was over two years ago in Jakarta when she thumped talented Damayanti with stylish 5-7, 6-1, 6-1 victory. Just turned 21 years old on November 3, 2008, Tananta as the winner pocketed $ 1,568 and earned six circuit points, while Damayanti as the runner-up bagged $ 980 and four circuit points. It was certainly a happy day for the Indonesian camp chaperoned by former national player, Suzanna Anggarkusuma Wibowo - very long time coach at Martina Widjaja's tennis center and a loyal confidant of this rich business woman. As for Damayanti, she could not ask for anything more as she resumed her overseas tour after exactly a year. She was certainly pleased with her result and it was important to her as she needed to show her new big boss, Martina Widjaja that it was worth financing her abroad. No accident that Damayanti's last final appearance was at Jakarta 10K in 2006 when she bowed out to Tananta.

Tananta, Damayanti and Rompies will compete again in the second leg of Manila 10K on this coming Tuesday. Will they make their big boss smile again with clean sweep? If it is to be, it is up to them!
