Indonesian tennis is practically dead

It has been a long time since I have written here and honestly I have been upset with Indonesian tennis so then as I got another opportunity to write in different portal, I made myself available. As for Indonesian women players, in the last few months only the veteran Romana Tedjakusuma has been maintaining her tour as she lives in the US. Meanwhile the two remaining players at the notorious BMW camp, Ayu Fani Damayanti and Lavinia Tananta have been taking hiatus for a while but the good news is soon they will resume their tour to Australia. The latest WTA singles ranking list for Indonesian (as at August 20, 2012): 1. WTA 345 (341) Ayu Fani Damayanti 133 points (11 tourneys) 2. WTA 468 (468) Romana Tedjakusuma 70 points (16 tourneys) 3. WTA 606 (606) Lavinia Tananta 42 points (9 tourneys) 4. WTA 679 (678) Jessy Rompies 32 points (5 tourneys) 5. WTA 818 (771) Grace Sari Ysidora 19 points (4 tourneys) Jessy Rompies has followed Beatrice Gumulya to join the squad of Clemson University in the US, so they both are playing tennis and studying at the university. Next month it will be Grace Sari Ysidora's turn to leave for University of Washington in Seattle, Washington state as she got a scholarship to play tennis and study Business Administration. Grace will be the second Indonesian to play at University of Washington after Dea Sumantri also hails from Bandung, West Java. A university tennis player is still allowed to play pro tourneys but they could only take their prize money after they graduate.
