Top seed pair Yayuk Basuki of Indonesia and Hwang I-Hsuan from Chinese Taipei advanced into quaterfinals at "Gosen Cup Swingbeach Makinohara International Ladies Open Tennis 2009" in Makinohara, Shizuoka-ken, Japan on Monday (September 21, 2009). At this tourney with total prize money of US $ 25,000 which is held on carpet outdoor or artificial grass, duo Basuki/Hwang cruised past South Korean duet Kim Na-Ri/Lee Jin-A 6-2, 6-4.
In singles draw, local top seed Kurumi Nara from Hyogo-ken is currently ranked at WTA 206 (her new career high) as per September 21, 2009, and she was too strong for her compatriot Maya Kato as she crushed her opponent 6-2, 6-1 in the opening round. Here in beautiful Makinohara nearby Mount Fuji, persistent Nara will try to capture her third title of 25K after Hamanako, Shizuoka-ken, Japan in October 2008 and Obihiro-Takachi, Hokkaido, Japan in late July.
Meanwhile Thai second seed Suchanun Viratprasert had slight difficulty in closing the match but she prevailed to battled past young Japanese Ai Yamamoto 6-2, 7-6(2). Another local young talent, fifth seed Misaki Doi outclassed local qualifier Tomoko Dokei 6-0, 6-3 in the first round.
