Simply bad luck as Ysidora Tobing stumbles in singles and doubles

Since Wednesday morning Grace Sari Ysidora Tobing got blister on her foot and during practice she just could not run at all. But Ysidora Tobing kept up her strong motivation to give her best by being unreasonable against ninth seed Daria Gavrilova of Russia in second round (round 32) of "US Open Junior Tennis Championships".

The opening set went quickly as Ysidora Tobing did not run at all to chase her opponent's returns. She just stood still and retrieved Gavrilova's groundstrokes. 15 years old Russian Gavrilova cruised on to lead 4-0 then eventually the Bandung resident held her serve and it became 1-4. From this stage on, Gavrilova did not waste her time to close it out 6-1 in 20 minutes.

In second set, Ysidora Tobing took risk by simply hitting as hard as she could all Gavrilova's returns. Ysidora Tobing began with breaking Gavrilova's serve and then she held her serve to lead 2-0. The Batak girl continued to gain her lead 2-1, 3-1, 3-2 but Gavrilova fought harder to level it 3-3. Immediately Gavrilova could hold her serve and she was up 4-3 but then Ysidora Tobing also held her serve to make it 4-4. The number two junior player of Indonesia broke her opponent's serve to lead 5-4. At this moment, it was such turning point for Gavrilova after she could force it 5-5. Instantly this Russian teenager held her serve again and she earned her lead 6-5. Then it was Ysidora Tobing's turn to hold serve and she made it 6-6.

Over tie break, Gavrilova took advantage of Ysidora Tobing's inability to run and she tricked her Indonesian opponent with several dropshot winners. Gavrilova won 7-3 in tie break and secured her ticket into round 16. It took Gavrilova 51 minutes to defeat Ysidora in second set. Nevertheless, credit should be given to Ysidora who fought strongly in second set.
