Indonesia's numero uno Christopher Rungkat kept on struggling to capitalize decent outcome at "Bec Tero Mens Future 3" with total prize money US $ 10,000 in Nonthaburi, Thailand last Monday (August 31, 2009). A wild card, Rungkat bowed out to seventh seed Yang Tsung-Hua from Chinese Taipei 3-6, 5-7 in the first round. Both Rungkat and Yang are 19 years old but it is obvious that Yang has been progressing a lot in his pro career than Rungkat. Yang is currently ranked at ATP 449 while Rungkat is ranked at ATP 1668. In contrast, Yang has got a title at China Futures last January, while Rungkat is still titleless.
In the meantime, Sunu Wahyu Trijati of Indonesia had to go through qualifying round first. Trijati tasted another first round defeat after he lost to fourth seed Hiroki Kondo of Japan 3-6, 1-6.
In doubles, Rungkat's bread and butter in pro, again he is partnered with Balinese Ketut Nesa Arta and the Indonesian duo sealed a win over local wild card pair Phassawit Burapharitta/Kong Pop Lertchai 6-3, 6-3 in the opening round.
