In the final week of "Thailand Futures" or "Thailand Mens Future 6" at LTAT Tennis Center, Nonthaburi, Thailand, Indonesian Elbert Sie ended his journey in singles final qualifying but since he had commitment already to play doubles with 24 years old Malaysian Adam Jaya, then he decided to stay. In the opening round, duet Jaya/Sie cruised past local pair Adirek Khundarnpinitvon/Grittaboon Prahmanee 6-3, 6-4. Then in quarterfinal, Jaya/Sie bowed out to the eventual champion, local second seed duet Kirati Siributwong/Peerakit Siributwong 3-6, 4-6.
So, Sie cancelled his plan to go to Palembang, South Sumatra where he was scheduled to take part in "Garuda Indonesia Tennis Series" or "Sportama serie 4" which was called as "Bukit Asam Open", a national tourney with total prize money of 150 million rupiahs.
