Lebedeva grabs her maiden title, while Sutjiadi/Syarifah claim first ever Grade 4 doubles title

Russian third seed Margarita Lebedeva claimed her Grade 4 maiden title at "Malaysia ITF World Junior Tennis Championships" which is held at Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh Tennis Courts in Perak, Ipoh, Malaysia on Sunday (October 18, 2009). Appearing only in her second final of Grade 4, 15 years old Lebedeva refused to let experienced top seed Katherine Westbury from New Zealand to add her Grade 4 title. As result, Lebedeva tasted her victory after she ousted Westbury 7-6(5), 1-6, 6-3.

In doubles' final, a surprise was made by fourth seed Indonesian pair Aldila Sutjiadi/Nadya Syarifah as they fought hard to beat third seed duet Bella Destriana/Nattawadee Kotcha (Indonesia/Thailand) 6-1, 4-6, 10-8. Reaching their second final after Malacca Grade 4 last March, duo Sutjiadi/Syarifah finally obtained doubles title together as a pair. It was indeed Grade 4 maiden doubles title for both Sutjiadi and Syarifah. But for Syarifah, she has two doubles title now after Vietnam Grade 5 last week. Meanwhile Destriana has collected 10 doubles title in Grade 4 and 1 doubles title in Grade 5, as for Kotcha, she tasted her first ever doubles runner-up here.

In boys singles, the winner was South African second seed Hernus Pieters who claimed his second Grade 4 title after Windhoek, Namibia last August. 16 years old Pieters earned it in a hard way to defeat unseeded Nima Madani from Sweden 7-5, 4-6, 6-2. As for Madani, today's final was his second time as runner-up after Kramfors, Sweden Grade 5 in August 2009.

Thai second seed duet claimed boys doubles title. Duo Phassawit Burapharitta/Chanon Varapongsittikul battled past top seed pair Hernus Pieters/Ahmed Triki (South Africa/Turkey) 6-2, 6-7(3), 10-8.
