Ravita fell in quarterfinal

Nadia Ravita, a Jakarta resident, crashed out in quarterfinal at "El Paso Youth Tennis Center ITF Tournament 2009" an ITF Grade 5 tourney which is held at El Paso Youth Tennis Center in El Paso, Texas, USA. In the last eight round on Thursday (October 22, 2009), seventh seed Ravita was crushed by local wild card and the eventual winner Hayley Carter 2-6, 0-6. Despite such scoreline, Ravita did her utmost to level her opponent's game who demonstrated continuous heavy top spins. In round 16 or third round, Ravita survived a thriller and defeated Swedish fourteenth seed Beatrice Cedermark 6-7(5), 6-1, 7-6(6).

It was an amazing run by three local wild cards as they cruised into semi-finals. But the best fairytale was indeed claimed by Hayley Carter who grabbed her maiden title in ITF junior circuit only in her second tourney after Lexington, South Carolina Grade 2 last year. 14 years old Carter eased past Liang 6-2, 6-0 in the final and by October 26, 2009 she will be on the board with her first ever ITF junior ranking. Last August, a resident of Hilton Head, South Carolina, Carter won the USTA Girls 14 Nationals in Peachtree City, Georgia.
