Thirteenth seed Polina Leykina of Russia bowed out to wild card Zhao Di of China in semi-final at "Eddie Herr International Junior Tennis Championships" which is held at IMG/Bollettieri Academies in Bradenton, Florida, USA in quarterfinal on Saturday (December 5, 2009). Leykina was shocked by Zhao and lost 3-6, 6-3, 2-6. As for Zhao who has been trained at Bollettieri Academy, she made it even better to reach her maiden Grade 1 final.
The highest seeded player left was Russian third seed Daria Gavrilova who ended Canadian Gabriela Dabrowski's run and she won 6-4, 6-3 in the other semi-final. In final, French Open's runner-up Gavrilova was pushed all the way in claiming the prestigious title but she eventually defeated Zhao Di 6-2, 4-6, 6-3. It is Gavrilova's second Grade 1 title of the year after "Open International Juniors de Beaulieu sur Mer 2009" in Beaulieu Sur Mer, France last April.
