Among four Indonesian girls who participated in the final tourney at "Bangladesh International Junior Championships 2010" in Dhaka, Bangladesh from March 1st to March 6th, 2010 Nadya Syarifah sealed the best result.
In this ITF Grade 3 tournament, Syarifah was placed as 12th seed and she made it all the way to quarterfinal when she eventually bowed out to China's Ou Xuanshuo 1-6, 6-2, 2-6. It was truly an achievement for Syarifah as she became quarter-finalist for the very first time in ITF Grade 3 tourney. In round 64, Syarifah received bye then in second round she dispatched Indian Natalla Khaniejo 6-1, 6-3. Syarifah had to fight hard to reach the last eight round after she battled past Indian Adnya Naik 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 in round 16. With good outcome being semi-finalist at an ITF Grade 4 tourney before at "BKSP International Junior Championships" in Dhaka also, this week (as at March 8, 2010) Syarifah reached her highest rank ever at ITF 311.
Three other girls were sixth seed Bella Destriana, 16th seed Cynthia Melita and unseeded Efriliya Herlina and they posted different results. Destriana and Melita both crashed out in second round. Destriana lost to Chuen Chu-Chen from Chinese Taipei 2-6, 7-6(6), 3-6, while Melita was defeated by the eventual champion Sabina Sharipova of Uzbekistan 5-7, 2-6. In the meantime Herlina ended her journey with no rank point at all as she fell in the opening round. Herlina was beaten by Indian Vaniya Dangwal 2-6, 2-6.
In doubles, fourth seed pair Destriana/Melita and unseeded duo Herlina/Syarifah concluded their particiaption in quarterfinals. Due to Melita's illness, Destriana and her handed walk over victory to sixth seed pair Huynh Phuong Dai Trang/Sanae Ota (Vietnam/Japan), while Herlina/Syarifah bowed out to seventh seed duet Sharipova/Anna Tyulpa (Uzbekistan/Russia) 1-6, 0-6.
It was interesting to find out that China's number one Zheng Saisai asked for wild card since she did not enter this tourney at all. Zheng was placed as top seed and she reached until semi-final when she gave walk over towards her counterpart, Ou. Apparently since Zheng also did not enter "ITF/LTAT Junior Championships Thailand 2010", so she had no choice but to play qualifying round. In order to catch a flight to Bangkok, Zheng decided not to play semi-final match.
As for Sharipova, she claimed back to back titles in 2 weeks after Rajshahi. So, now she has got 2 titles from an ITF Grade 3 tournament.
