Ravita secured her best result

Nadia Ravita, 15 years old, daughter of former players Hawin Sutopo and Luky Tedjamukti had to delay her maiden title in ITF Junior Circuit as she bowed out to 17 years old Canadian and fifth seed Juliana Gajic 2-6, 4-6 in the final of an ITF Grade 5 tournament known as “Guatemala ITF Junior 2010” last Saturday (March 6, 2010) in Guatemala City, Guatemala. Nevertheless it was Ravita's best outcome of her junior career as she became runner-up in an ITF Grade 5 tourney.

Appearing in her first final ever, Ravita was very nervous and she could not play her best along the match. Ravita has been almost 2 years practicing at International Tennis Academy, Delray Beach, Florida, and she is now trailing 0-2 against Gajic who was once ranked as high as ITF 254 as at March 9, 2009. With this result Gajic improved her ranking from ITF 448 as per March 1, 2010 to ITF 360 as at March 8, 2010. In the first meeting, Ravita lost to Gajic 1-6, 3-6 in second round at an ITF Grade 4 tourney called “International Junior Open Club Casablanca Mexico City 2009” which was held in Mexico City, Mexico. As runner-up in Guatemala City, Ravita reached her best rank ever at ITF 493 as per March 8, 2010.

Ravita's participation here in Guatemala City was her second tournament in this season. Prior Guatemala City, Ravita played at “El Salvador Junior Open 2010” an ITF Grade 4 tourney which was held in La Libertad, El Salvador and she exited immediately in the opening round after she lost to Latvian, Laura Gulbe 2-6, 5-7.

Then Ravita continued on to play at "Costa Rica Bowl" an ITF Grade 3 tourney which is being held in San Jose, Costa Rica this week. Playing with waist problem, Ravita crashed out instantly in the first round as she lost to American qualifier Gabrielle Desimone 1-6, 2-6.

During her tour to Central America, Ravita was accompanied by Wang I-Ting, one of the coaches at International Tennis Academy. Wang is former pro player and she is now 28 years old. Wang's highest rank was at WTA 438 in November 2000.
