Nadia Ravita paid the price of defeat at Prince Cup

The only Indonesian qualified into the main draw from qualifying round, Nadia Ravita gave her fighting attitude against Aliaksandra Sasnovich of Belarus in the second round or round of 32. Sasnovich played better than Ravita in important moments and she showed her mental toughness to win 6-4, 2-6, 6-2. During the match, Ravita experienced leg strain or injury precaution. Indeed it is really tough field and competition as the draw is 64 same as Grand Slam tourneys.

Ravita is actually partnered with Japanese Sanae Ota and they were scheduled to play the opening round against Mara Schmidt/Jaime Yapp Shing from USA. Ravita was prohibited by the tourney's doctor to play doubles due to leg strain and if she insisted to play the match then she will have much worst injury. Thus the American pair, Schmidt/Yapp Shing did not play at all though Ota/Ravita and them were present on the court then Ravita called a quit and retired.

Back in 1998 winner of girls' singles here at Prince Cup was Belgian Kim Clijsters who dispatched Venezuelan Milagros Sequera 6-7, 6-3, 6-1.
